ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
This role reports to Communications and Events Coordinator.
SUMMARY
The Student Assistant Events Support will assist the Communication and Events Coordinator on the planning and execution of various KPU and WSD events for the purposes of recruitment, enhancement of student life and wellness, and community engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work under supervision and guidance of the Communications and Events Coordinator.
Assist with planning, setup, coordination and operational logistics of WSD and KPU events.
Attend events to engage with current/prospective students and community members.
Sharing information about the student experience at WSD and KPU.
Assist in promoting WSD events.
Document WSD events and activities with photography and/or film (using video).
QUALIFICATIONS
Active (currently enrolled) student at the Wilson School of Design
Creative, energetic and outgoing
Enthusiastic about student wellness and student life at WSD
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with others
Reliable, organized and detail oriented
Problem solver, works independently and manages time effectively to meet deadlines
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud Software
Available for shifts at any campus or community event, as needed
Available to work evenings and weekends as needed
*Salary Information
Student Assistants are paid as per the following:
Less than one year of post-secondary (less than 30 credits) – BC Minimum Wage
One year of post-secondary (30-60 credits) – BC Minimum Wage plus 8%
With a post-secondary diploma or degree – BC Minimum Wage plus 21%
