CWAM Taxation is responsible for segregated fund taxation client reporting and support, tax withholding, remittance and balancing activities. The Taxation team is encouraged to have extensive knowledge of both Investments and Taxation to fulfill its mandate, to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting to clients invested in our Canadian products. The team also uses its expert knowledge to support new product development and changes in legislative requirements. Reporting to the Director, the Manager Investment Information Services will be accountable for leading multiple taxation support systems and administrators, as well as the oversight of the segregated fund taxation process to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting for clients invested in our Canadian investment products. Position Responsibilities: Manage the internal taxation systems environment ensuring compliance with applicable tax legislation and associated risk management Oversee the segregated fund taxation framework and annual income allocation process Provide technical knowledge to support the team, operational projects, systems development, and critical initiatives Consult and recommend solutions to complex business problems and strategic opportunities Implement changes and improvements in procedures, methods, systems and workflow Required Qualifications: 8+ years’ experience with investment funds, taxation, or systems environments Accounting designation (CMA, CA, CGA, CPA) Understanding of the Investment Funds Industry Experience with SQL Server or comparable database environment Ability to supervise subject matter experts Handle vendor relationships Preferred Qualifications: Strong analytical and inquiry skills to understand operational issues and constraints Ability to work with minimum supervision but in line with team objectives Effectively communicate ideas and recommendations while considering viewpoints of partners or team members Work in an efficient manner and respect timelines CICA In-depth Tax Course or Investment Industry courses/designations would be an asset Able to work overtime during peak periods The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French in order to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec.
