This posting is for 2 hourly positions
Working with Strathcona County Transit, the Fuel Bay Attendant ensures transit buses are operational by dispensing gas and oil for buses, ensuring all fluids are topped up and other maintenance requirements are noted and met.
Key Responsibilities
Dispensing fuel and oil into buses within the bus barns; checks radiators, fan belts, hoses and tires; checks fluid levels and products used; and record pertinent vehicle data such as kilometers and engine hours.
Record performed services on appropriate forms.
Perform general repairs on bus wash equipment to maintain its functionality
Perform exterior washing of transit vehicles as required
Cleaning and washing of floors around the fuelling station
Ensuring all fluid spills in the bus storage area are clean up as per OH&S requirements
Doing routine maintenance and repairs to bus washing equipment
Move vehicles as required for maintenance and servicing
Performing visual inspections of vehicles and reporting any deficiencies noted
Skills and Abilities
Exhibit initiative while fuelling Transit vehicles and equipment in identifying potential defaults or other conditions which may cause buses to incur equipment break-down, and recording these defaults on defect sheets for Fleet maintenance to conduct corrective action
Detail orientated with excellent organizational and time management skills with sound decision making skills
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Qualifications
High School Diploma plus 1 year work experience preferably within a heavy equipment fuelling and maintenance industry
Experience in a municipal setting is considered an asset
Conditions of Employment
Submission of satisfactory Criminal Record Check
Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s licence and submission of a Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits
Air Brakes Q endorsement is required
