This project will address systemic barriers through education, mentorship, community outreach, partnership development, and policy advocacy. The coordinator will play a key role in participant recruitment, liaising with governance bodies to place women on boards, and working closely with McMaster University and other stakeholders throughout the project cycle.
This is a part-time contract of 20 hours per week ending March 2026.

Program Delivery & Coordination
Coordinate and implement core project components including training, mentorship, outreach activities, and advocacy efforts.
Develop and maintain project timelines, ensuring deliverables are met on schedule.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure smooth execution of project goals.
Participant Recruitment & Support
Lead recruitment of racialized women to participate in the program, using targeted outreach strategies and community networks.
Support participants’ development by coordinating training sessions, mentorship matching, and governance readiness workshops.
Governance Engagement & Board Placements
Research and identify organizations and institutions with board and committee opportunities for racialized women.
Establish and nurture relationships with those organizations to create pathways for participant board placements.
Support participants in applying for and preparing to serve on boards and advisory committees.
Stakeholder Engagement & Liaison Work
Serve as the primary liaison with McMaster University to ensure collaboration on program content, evaluation, and reporting.
Build and maintain relationships with community-based organizations, policy leaders, governance institutions, and other key stakeholders.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
Assist with data collection, outcome tracking, and participant feedback to support the work of the external evaluator.
Prepare regular progress updates and contribute to reporting for internal use, funders, and academic partners.
Administrative Support
Maintain participant records, track engagement activities, schedule meetings, and manage communications related to the project.
Support outreach material development and promotion of project opportunities.
