Job Summary The Production Supervisor will supervise the activities of the production team to organize, schedule and coordinate workflow to maximize productivity output. They will monitor and coach employees to produce the highest quality products as efficiently as possible while adhering to corporate health and safety policies. This position will be on a Rotational Shift structure. Principal Responsibilities Establish and grow a culture where Safety is a core value through implementing and ensuring adherence to plant health, safety and environmental procedures always to secure a safe and efficient workplace Lead, coach and mentor production team, provide training and communicate/assign activities of the production shift Ensure that daily operations are running in accordance with the priority schedules of orders and to align with both customer and company standards safely and efficiently, collaborating closely with other departments and troubleshooting when necessary Prepare operating reports to summarize production, downtime and variance performance by machine and shift in the production area (i.e. end of shift report) Monitor quality of output and take appropriate action to prevent or limit production of off-grade material, including conducting or assisting in conducting investigations to resolve causes of quality defects Assist in the start-up and troubleshooting of process related problems with production equipment, tooling and auxiliary equipment Minimize raw material inventory and variance by optimizing the use of regrind material, minimizing scrap rates, and minimizing unrecoverable scrap Proactively monitor the MES data management system to ensure accuracy and effective information Implement and/or assist in implementation of LEAN principles, including 5S program Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment 3+ years’ experience in a Supervisory capacity Experience in Plastics Extrusion is highly desirable Technical understanding of production planning techniques, basic understanding of quality management standards, lean manufacturing and safety requirements/laws (ISO 9001, Six Sigma, 5S, etc.) Knowledge of ERP & MES systems Comfortable with Microsoft Office software Excellent communications skills, verbal and written Ability to empower and encourage employee performance Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills Positive and supportive attitude IPEX is committed to providing accommodations for people with disabilities throughout the recruitment process and, upon request, will work with qualified job applicants to provide suitable accommodation in a manner that takes into account the applicant’s accessibility needs due to disability.
