What Will You Be Doing?
As a Steward at Carmen’s Group, you’ll play a crucial behind-the-scenes role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. With a focus on cleanliness, organization, and teamwork, you’ll help create the foundation for exceptional guest experiences by supporting our culinary team every step of the way.
Your responsibilities will include:
Cleaning and sanitizing dishes, glassware, utensils, kitchen tools, and food preparation equipment using an industrial dishwasher or by hand when required
Ensuring all items are properly cleaned, dried, and returned to their designated storage locations
Maintaining clean and orderly kitchen work areas—including sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces, walls, and equipment
Reporting any low stock, damaged items, or equipment issues promptly to the Executive Chef
Following all food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handling and chemical use
Supporting kitchen operations by keeping dish stations, floors, and storage areas clean and organized
Assisting with trash and recycling removal in accordance with cleanliness standards
Communicating effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and safe operations
Taking direction from the Executive Chef and contributing to a respectful, team-first kitchen culture
Performing other duties as assigned to support kitchen operations
In this role, your attention to detail and dedication to cleanliness directly contribute to the success of our kitchen—and to the extraordinary experiences we deliver to every guest.
Your Ingredients to Success
Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen or dish pit (banquet, catering, or high-volume environments an asset)
Strong work ethic and ability to stay focused during busy service periods
Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and sanitation standards
A team-first attitude and willingness to support wherever needed in the kitchen
Reliable and punctual with a sense of urgency
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Safe Food Handler’s Certificate (an asset)
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and event-based hours
