As part of this commitment, we are embarking on an exciting digital transformation to implement a new, modernized hospital information system (HIS). Our dedicated HIS team will collaborate closely with our trusted HIS vendor (Epic) and internal subject matter experts to develop a fully functional system that will empower us to deliver exceptional care and services.The Epic Principal Trainer will be responsible for design and development of training curriculum for the Epic HIS. The Principal Trainer will be responsible for designing, creating simulations, maintenance and analysis of the Epic training environment. The role is one that bridges clinical workflows and technology in the delivery of education to all end users across the organization. The role requires knowledge and expertise in educational processes including curriculum development, delivery of education in various modalities and evaluation methodologies. The Epic Principal Trainer will serve as a support to Epic credentialed trainers and provide guidance as needed. This role is part of the HIS project structure, with a key responsibility to design, deliver and sustain our systems to address both clinical and non-clinical needs, ensuring the HIS is utilized effectively and efficiently in patient care.Accountabilities:Design, develop and maintain engaging curriculum content and instructional material for all clinical and non-clinical end users of Epic (e.g., lab techs, porters, allied health professionals, nurses, pharmacists, registration, and finance staff etc.)Collaborate with organization leaders, subject matter experts, application analysts and the organization development department to incorporate organizational best practices into the curriculum contentDesign, build and maintain central repository for learning content with version controlBuild, test and maintain training environments while providing support and troubleshooting issues as requiredDevelop training curriculums that are in alignment with adult learning principles, instructional design, font formatting and content placement to ensure learners can easily understand the context and absorb the information effectivelyEnsure compliance with curriculum creation and training delivery standards, templates and processesDetermine the criteria used to judge learner’s performance and develop assessment instrumentsUses feedback tools and assessment results to evaluate instructional effectiveness and revises curriculum as neededProvides support, guidance, and credentialing to credentialed trainersReview Nova Notes and update training curriculum, tip-sheets and MST environment to reflect system upgradesMaintain mitosis process for MST and ACE environments to ensure test patients are refreshed accurately and according to schedule, which includes testing all master patients in ACE environments before duplicationCreate and maintain documentation to build a repository of key configuration decisions and associated buildWork closely with the Epic HIS vendor, project team and operational subject matter experts to help create the future state workflows by participating and leading site visits, working group meetings, validation sessions and other related meetingsFacilitate and participate in meetings to discuss deliverables, issues, end user concerns and upcoming milestones.Work closely with HIS team members to identify, document and troubleshoot issues to find creative resolutionsPartner with Epic vendor representatives to maintain communication and help vendor staff understand hospital’s operational needsAchieve Epic certification and/or accreditationParticipate in an on-call rotation to provide 24/7 supportWork extended hours (days, evenings, nights, weekends) as requiredQualificationsDemonstrated proficiency working with Microsoft Enterprise applications (i.e., Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, OneNote) is requiredProven leadership capabilities in a team environment is an assetDemonstrated critical thinking skills, strong organizational skills and well-developed written and verbal communication skills are requiredDemonstrated proficiency working with Microsoft Enterprise applications (i.e., Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, OneNote) is requiredAbility to learn new software and systems, demonstrating technical aptitudeAbility to work in an agile environment to deliver an HIS that meets end user needsAbility to work independently and in collaboration with a team to meet HIS project milestones and ensure successful project deliveryAbility to analyze user requirements and come up with creative solutions to meet end user needsAbility and willingness to support project success in a manner that goes beyond completion of assigned tasksAbility to persevere in a high intensity project to overcome obstacles and difficult situations within a time sensitive implementationAbility to travel to the United States as requiredMust demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and CollaborationAdditional InformationHours: Currently Days (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)Salary Range: $88,413.00 - $110,526.00Application deadline: July 22, 2025#LI-HT1#TFT#LI-HybridOsler values inclusivity and diversity in the workplace.
