Join our team today!Job DescriptionReporting to the Manager, Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness, as the coordinator you will support the Hospital’s respiratory protection program and WSIB claims management program. You will play a key role in ensuring employees maintain a current fit test and mitigating exposures and lost time due to work related incidents. More specifically, you will be responsible for the following day-to-day functions.Using the Parklane System to input data, obtain reports and monitor the on-line incident reporting moduleConduct respirator fit testing and act as subject matter expert for respiratory protection programLiaise with H&S specialists and department managers in providing modified work and/or accommodations for work related incidentsManage claims for work related incidents, including submitting Form 7s and liaising with the Workplace Safety and Insurance BoardPrepare and maintain the filing system related to claims management, ensuring correspondence such as incident information is maintained in the appropriate fileAssist with ergonomic/workstation assessmentsOversee process related to OHS policy reviewAssist in updating OHS policies as required. Assist with the Workplace Violence and Harassment incident reports by liaising with the Health and Safety Specialist, Human Resources and other relevant partiesAttend and participate in Health and Safety meetings, workplace inspections, and critical injury investigations as neededCo-ordinate the collection and analysis of Health and Safety information, produce reports on a monthly and quarterly basis on statistical information on relevant OHS data, and provide recommendations for improvementAct as a resource to provide consultation, coaching, guidance and support to the workplace on H&S issues, concerns and inquiriesMaintain a strong working knowledge of legislative changes in support of regulatory compliance initiativesWork with the H&S specialist to liaise with the Ministry of LabourEnsure high level of confidentiality is practiced, following Osler policies and proceduresQualificationsPost-Secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalentCurrent registration or working towards (CRSP) and/or (CHSC) designation preferredA minimum of two years’ experience in the Occupational Health and Safety field in a health care setting, preferredIntermediate proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook, working knowledge of Parklane strongly preferredPrevious experience with Parklane is an assetWorking knowledge of related legislation pertinent to the function, including the OHSA, applicable regulations, WSIA, CSA standards and OHRC, requiredDemonstrated knowledge of respiratory protection and fit testingClaims management experience, including submitting notice of incidents Demonstrated knowledge of the essential elements of the Health and Safety function, such as legislation, incident prevention, and industrial hygiene standardsExcellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (including telephone skills)Must be able to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary treatment teamStrong detail orientation and ability to effectively manage time and competing prioritiesDemonstrated ability to problem solve, quickly and effectively assess situations to be able to triage appropriately based on priorityAbility to be adaptable in a constantly changing, fast paced environmentExcellent attendance and proven work recordThis role will require travel between and work at all hospital sitesAdditional InformationHours: Currently days (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)Salary Range: $62,029.50 - $77,532.00
