As part of the Amazon-wide Amzonian Leadership Experiences team, the Senior
Leadership team’s mission is to build workforce planning application suite. We
develop philosophies, mechanisms and products that guide leaders to inspect and
make data-driven decisions to improve their organizational operating models, and
plans to guide their outlook year for workforce composition. A successful
candidate will be responsible for leading the development and launch of a
variety of core product features, designing the system architecture, and
promoting code quality and best practices. You are passionate about the customer
experience, take pride in building high quality software, and have a
demonstrable track record of successfully delivering new features and products.
You value collaboration, making data-driven decisions, and can comfortably
communicate with others, in both technical and non-technical roles.
Key job responsibilities
- Proficiency in Java or any other object oriented programming is required, and
the ideal candidate is an expert in at least one of these languages.
- Well versed for Frontend technologies including React, Single Page
Application, Webpack, Module Federation.
- Highly-motivated and thrive in an environment where problems are open-ended.
- Enjoy engaging in passionate discussions with smart people and letting the
best ideas rise to the top.
- Work closely with senior engineers, UX designers and product managers to
develop friendly UI experiences.
- Work closely with engineers to architect and develop the best technical
design.
- Develop/maintain operational rigor for the rigor of a fast-growing Amazon
Search stack.
- Help with hiring and mentoring.
- Take user-facing features from design to implementation, coding both the UI
and backend functionality.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.

About the team
The Workforce Planning team was formed in November 2024 to create a
single-threaded focus within Amazonian Leadership Experiences team. The team
owns an enterprise-wide product: Workforce Planning suite of tools. This product
helps leaders translate OpEx targets and Headcount movements into a clear
business strategy to guide them and their organization for upcoming year(s).
This growing team partners with Research Science, UX Design, and additional
talent management teams across the company to build innovative experiences for
Amazon’s leaders and their partners. Basic Qualifications: - 3+ years of
non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns,
reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications: - 3+ years of full software development life cycle,
including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build
processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary for this position ranges from $114,800/year up to $191,800/year.
Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related
knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of
compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in
addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
