Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $22.07 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 2024) Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $34.73 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 2024) In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant’s duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. Attendance at the Divisional Science Safety Seminar is a departmental requirement Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. Under the direction of the Senior Lab Instructor, the incumbent is required to be familiar with laboratory procedures and present an introduction to the lab, demonstrate laboratory techniques, teach and assist students during the lab, maintain safe lab conditions, be responsible for lab preparation and cleanup, mark lab reports, and attend meetings as needed. Qualifications 1. MSc in Biology or currently enrolled in a graduate program in biology or related discipline or have successfully demonstrated this course in the last 5 years. 2. Working in the field, particularly handling and collecting aquatic insect wildlife; experience with the assessment of, and analysis of, aquatic insect behaviour would be an advantage. 3. Demonstrated competence working for at least 3 months in a BIOL research laboratory. 4. Experience with statistical analysis.
