Job Description: Job Description: As a Software Engineer on the Application Operations & Services (AOS) team, you will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience within a mainframe environment. You will be a member of a team responsible for ongoing operations, support, maintenance, and release of application enhancements across a variety of business complexes in the individual line of business. You will gain an understanding of working on a complex, large environment that utilizes mainframe and distributed technologies. What will you do? Is accountable for the ongoing support of application systems in production including problem analysis, resolution, escalation, and reporting as necessary. Provide ongoing support of mainframe applications including responding to service requests, problem analysis, resolution, escalation, and reporting as necessary. Reviews and analyzes issues with minimal assistance. Ensure potential issues are tracked and escalated in a timely manner. Documenting issues and the specific solutions provided. Participate fully as a member of the team by supporting a work environment that promotes knowledge sharing, customer service, quality, innovation, and teamwork. What do you need to succeed? Understanding of mainframe environments Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively with others to build and maintain strong, cohesive teams through practicing open dialogue and sharing of ideas/information. Excellent organizing, planning and time management skills. Technical Skills you will need: University Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline Minimum 3 years of progressive information technology experience with full application development life cycle and systems integration experience Minimum of 3 years JCL and PL/I or Cobol experience Strong analysis skills Excellent skills in Microsoft office products Word, Excel, PPT, Visio, Understanding of source code management Unique / Additional Requirements: Provide on-call support for production environments on a rotating schedule. Periodic weekend / after-hours work may be required to support project implementations and system upgrades. The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
