The project:
The Yonge North Subway Extension will transform the commute in York Region, North York and beyond by extending the TTC’s Line 1 service north from Finch Station to Vaughan, Markham and Richmond Hill. The project includes five stations along an extension of roughly eight kilometres. The MCS team is partnering with Metrolinx to deliver the Yonge North Subway Extension.

As Contract Administrator you will report to the Contract Administration Manager and will be responsible for coordinating and managing contract administration activities related to YNSE such as stakeholder management, analysis of contract requirements, coordinating for presentations and reports to support the operations and governance of managing projects, in accordance with our clients’ policies and departmental processes and procedures.
You'll be responsible for:
Reviewing, interpreting, and analysing contract requirements, tenders, and contract documents, to ensure that the overall contracting strategy and individual clauses/terms are applied appropriately and consistently to reduce risk and protect the interests of our client. Ensures required clauses are included in all contract documentation and recommends changes/revisions where omissions/inconsistencies occur.
Identifying and advising on the resolution of a range of critical contract issues including contractor performance, and monitors contractor adherence to the terms of contractual agreements; enforces contractual obligations and conditions by engaging internal legal representation and aiding in negotiations and resolution of matters, or enforcement of penalty clauses, Liquidated Damages, etc.
Accurate administration of various contract records, such as work releases, change orders, certificates of payment, amendments, correspondence, notices etc. in the Contract Management System, such as Primavera Contract Manager and/or Oracle Unifier.
Supporting development of high-quality reports, presentations, communication strategies and plan, as initiator/author.
Coordinating, supporting, and attending management meetings including confirming agenda, reviewing materials, and following up on action items.
Monitoring status of assigned contracts, prepares and provides reports to management and project teams by analysing pending changes, contingency usage, outstanding payments, difficult or problematic issues to facilitate timely resolution and avoid risk of claims and disputes.
You’ll also have :
Demonstrated some experience in the contract administration of construction and or engineering contracts.
Ability to interpret contract law, and legislations.
Ability to plan, schedule and organize a variety of activities and deal with stressful situations with tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
Experience using contract administration systems.
Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office.
