Youth Coordinator
Job Purpose
This position is responsible for working alongside the Youth Pastors in providing leadership to Youth Ministry programming, connecting with, and caring for volunteers and youth and their families, and cultivating life-long disciples of Jesus who love God and love others.
Main Responsibilities
Collaborate with Youth Pastor and Director in strategic direction and planning in vision, direction, and key results of Next Gen Ministries at SPAC
Collaborate with Next Gen Ministries to ensure care for families, and transitions between age categories
Implement communication strategies and social media presence to engage volunteers, parents, and the community in a variety of Youth Ministry programs and events
Care for families through regular communication
Encourage students and young adults within SCA and SPAC Youth who exhibit a potential interest in or call to ministry.
Assist with preparation of Curriculum for Junior and Senior High programming
Support volunteers in their role.
Assist with planning and participate in Youth Ministry events when needed
Care for families through regular communication
Assist with recruitment, development, caring for, and equipping volunteers
Manage volunteer profiles and Abuse Prevention guidelines
Create and implement registration processes for programming and events
Assist with maintaining Attendance Records to ensure accurate reporting
Book and manage the required internal church spaces, and external event spaces and transportation, are booked for Youth programming
Active participation in staff prayer times and meetings
Ensure cleaning protocols and procedures are followed
Qualifications
Willing to pursue non-portable licensing with C&MA.
Experience volunteering or working with youth.
Passionate about working with youth and families.
Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
Core Competencies include organization/time management, communication, and administration.
Additional Requirements
Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
Completion of Abuse Prevention Training.
Will adhere to the policies and procedures of the Staff Handbook.
Membership, or working towards Membership, of Sherwood Park Alliance Church.
