Job Summary Job Description What is the opportunity? An exciting opportunity where you will provide independent objective risk assessment and evaluation of the effectiveness of risk management practices, internal control and corporate governance processes within Finance areas such as Financial Control, Product Control, Performance Management, and Corporate Taxation. You will examine the business unit’s control environment to determine whether it effectively identifies and mitigates risk and to recommend valuable changes, where appropriate. You will deliver results to enable these functional units to align with financial and regulatory requirements, adhere to RBC policies and procedures, and implement industry trends. RBC Internal Audit leverages a unique perspective— with a coordinated view across the entire business—to deliver valuable advice that not only gives assurance, but that illuminates a bigger picture, connects dots, builds best practices and broadens possibilities. We connect intelligence to protect and enable RBC. What will you do? Contribute to execution of audits in the annual plan, and formally document audit evidence, in accordance with Internal Audit guidelines and methodology. Assess effectiveness of internal controls, risk management practices and governance processes in order to draw conclusions and identify gaps and areas for improvement. Collaborate with other audit groups to effectively execute audits. Contribute to advisory engagements which are consistent with our role to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes, providing the services do not represent a conflict of interest or detract from our mandate. Effect change by ensuring corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner to effectively address issues raised. Maintain effective working relationship with key partners ensuring they get maximum value from our engagement work. Stay on top of organizational, regulatory, product, strategic and financial changes and/or trends impacting the business. Take initiative to lead smaller engagements and projects. What do you need to succeed? Must-have 3 to 5 years of audit experience Undergraduate degree Proven project management and time management skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Nice-to-have Professional accounting or audit designation (CPA, CPA) Knowledge of corporate taxation topics Experience using data analytics Knowledge of the regulatory environment within the financial services industry What’s in it for you?
