TRANSIT DEMAND RESPONSE/PARATRANSIT (AAR) OPERATOR
NON-PERMANENT CASUAL
(Up to three (3) Positions)
Lethbridge Transit is seeking qualified individuals to join our team as casual Transit Demand Response/Paratransit (AAR) Operators. This casual position offers a fantastic opportunity to become part of a dedicated team committed to providing exceptional public service.
The Transit Demand Response/Paratransit (AAR) Operator, under the leadership of the Transit Operations Manager, will be responsible for ensuring that transit services are delivered safely, efficiently, and with a strong focus on customer service excellence.

STATUS: Casual; with opportunities for future permanency
HOURS OF WORK: 0 to 40 hours per week, shift work: days, evenings and weekends
WAGE: Start Rate: $28.66 (2025 start rate) (first 2080 hours - hour threshold)
Job Rate: $31.83 per hour (2025 job rate) - after 2080 hours threshold successfully met
Key Responsibilities:
Operate assigned transit vehicles in a safe, efficient, and customer-focused manner.
Follow all safety and traffic rules while strictly adhering to time schedules.
Ensure customers are treated with kindness, dignity, and respect.
Support a safe, healthy, supportive, and productive work environment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends.
Report to work reliably and punctually.
Perform fare collection using an electronic fare collection system.
Carry out other related duties as required to ensure smooth transit operations.

Ability to work shift work, including evenings and weekends.

Physical strength and dexterity to perform job duties.
Physical ability to lift and maneuver wheelchairs and assist passengers.
Required for the Position:
A valid Class 4 Operator’s License.

Candidates under consideration will be required to:
Undergo a complete physical functional needs assessment.
Successfully complete and pass a Criminal Record Check through Lethbridge Regional Police Service.
