ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS:
The primary result expected from the National Accounts Manager will be to grow support for all Rust-Oleum brands through sales by attaining revenue and contribution goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Typical tasks for this position include (but are not limited to) the following:
Deliver Assigned Revenue/Sales Plan/Annual Goal.
Increase distribution and shelf space on Rust-Oleum brands delivering or exceeding assigned sales plan for assigned Account(s).
Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.
Oversee Sales Support Staff (if applicable).
Plan and direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and service programs (if applicable).
Review operational records and reports to project sales and determine profitability.
Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts.
Direct and coordinate activities involving sales of manufactured products and services.
Build and maintain new and existing relationships with Account merchants and management.
Manage Account’s overall expense budget.
Prepare budgets and approve budget expenditures.
Forecast monthly sales promotional activity and expense budget for assigned Accounts.
Work with Marketing to secure advertising and promotions for the Account as well as the creation of POP and other on site marketing materials.
Coordinate deals and promotions with Customer Service, Inventory and Distribution.
Forecast sales and demand planning for the account/s with high accuracy.
Mitigating/handling any credits, financial adjustments and fines on a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
5-8 years strong sales experience in National retail Accounts
College degree, B.A. or better is required.
Minimum 5 years selling experience to major customers/outlets is required
Proficiency using MS Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge of the Hardware Industry – Retail Accounts is required
Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service skills, and the ability to build relationships is crucial.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills is needed for strong presentation and facilitation is required.
Knowledge of direct selling, multiple location retailer chains would be an asset.
Selected candidate should be sales results oriented and a high performer who is customer focused, reliable, adaptable and diligent.
Knowledge of Rust-Oleum products, category management, forecasting, marketing programs, policies, and procedures would be beneficial.
Having positive attitude, excellent organizational skills and should be a Team player.
