Through our Withdrawal Management Program, we provide a safe environment for clients as they experience withdrawal symptoms; ensuring a calm, respectful and supportive environment as clients undertake the difficult work of moving forward in their recovery journeys.
As part of this multi-disciplinary team, you will support clients in a short-term residential setting by providing crisis management and encouragement while ensuring a calm and respectful environment for all.
The Registered Nurse (RN) will utilize a holistic approach for client services. Services include assessment, treatment planning, and implementing care following the bio psychosocial model, in accordance with established policies and practices.
The RN will support treatment plans related to addiction medicine support and team-based care to clients on site at the Withdrawal Management Beds in Elgin. The RN will also provide harm reduction support and strategies related to safety, on-going support upon discharge from the program including linkages to other addiction programs such as RAAM, COAP, treatment, etc.
Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the last six months. Interested applicants who reside in the City of London and are in need of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible as PVSCs in the City of London are currently taking approximately 2 weeks to be processed and offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a PVSC.

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:
What you'll be making - Starting rate for this role is $32.13 per hour (Level 1 of the RN/OT Grid);
Successful external applicants will start at Level 1, with grid progression based on seniority up to Level 8, $41.41 per hour
Internal applicants will be placed on the grid based on their seniority
Premiums of $2.00 will be applied for eligible Evening/Nights and Weekend shifts
When you'll work: Casual Shifts to include days, afternoons, evenings and weekends
Your pension plan – Immediately eligible for optional enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE:
Responsible for screening, assessment and provision of nursing interventions and supports to individuals referred to the Withdrawal Management Beds
Collaborate with addiction and mental health service providers to support the needs of clients who may be in crisis and needing supervised withdrawal management support
Supporting intakes and assessing other health related concerns
Talking a lead re: addiction medicine treatment plans
Developing MARS, managing/administrating controlled substances
Promote Withdrawal Management Services to healthcare professionals, clients and the community and develop or extend expertise
Participate in reporting requirements
Assist with program development, implementation and evaluation
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY:

We require the following qualifications:
Diploma in Nursing as a Registered Nurse (RN) (primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process i.e. original degree/diploma or official transcript)
Current Registration as an RN from the College of Nurses of Ontario
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly
We prefer the following qualifications:
Experience with electronic medical records, PS Suites preferred
ASIST training preferred
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training preferred
Nursing experience with a perspective that acknowledges and seeks to improve the impact of the social determinants of health
Working knowledge of chemical dependency, including the pathophysiology of substance abuse and withdrawal
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with internal and external contacts including community and facility contacts, staff, physicians, clients, families, agencies
Ability to tolerate stress and deal with a wide range of medical, mental health, behavioural and emotional issues
First Aid & CPR certification
