Please note that this position is a 12-month contract role This position is a hybrid role based out of our Toronto, ON office About you The Sustainability Specialist is a key member of the Global Sustainability team and supports efforts to advance Colliers’ global sustainability strategy. The incumbent is responsible for delivering cross-functional initiatives that support data management, decarbonization strategy, sustainable procurement, regulatory readiness, and internal and external reporting. This role blends subject matter knowledge in sustainability with strong analytical, project management, and communication skills. The incumbent works closely with global teams in People Services, Operations, Marketing, and regional leaders to support the integration of Colliers’ Global Sustainability Strategy ‘Built to Last’ and operationalize its commitments. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in climate and sustainability strategy implementation, ESG data platform integration and management, emissions accounting (Scopes 1, 2, and 3), policy development, and stakeholder engagement, and thrives in a high-impact, fast-paced global environment. In this role, you will… Lead or support the design and implementation of key ESG initiatives aligned with the Built to Last framework, including global sustainability fit-out guidelines, the fleet electrification strategy, and internal decarbonization targets. Coordinate with regional and business segment leaders to advance the global sustainability commercial strategy and the sustainability tech stack strategy to enable scalable client solutions. Support the implementation and optimization of Colliers’ global ESG data platform for Scopes 1, 2, and 3 emissions across all countries and regions. Oversee emissions data collection, verification, parameter-based estimations, and assurance processes in line with global and regional specific regulatory requirements. Produce monthly reports and support external assurance readiness annually. Support development of the Global Sustainability Report (GSR), including alignment with GRI and integration of key data points across sustainability pillars. Coordinate ESG responses to third-party sustainability ratings (CDP, EcoVadis, S&P CSA, MSCI, etc.). Compile and maintain up-to-date ESG communications materials, such as RFP Q&A responses and updates to the corporate sustainability webpage. Lead development and global rollout of Colliers’ Sustainable Procurement Policy, ensuring alignment with the Human Rights Policy and ESG standards for suppliers. Review and refine internal ESG-related policies quarterly to ensure alignment with strategic direction and regulatory expectations. Conduct sustainability-related market and competitor analysis to inform commercial opportunities and service development across key regions (APAC, US, CED, Canada, and EMEA). Facilitate internal stakeholder engagement to ensure successful policy and initiative implementation, including training and guidance to local teams and collaboration with external auditors. What you’ll bring 3+ years’ experience in analytical or project management role, preferably in CRE, sustainability or related field.
