As the Appraisal Leader – Quality Assurance, you will lead the national quality assurance strategy for Aviva’s Auto Appraisal operations. This role blends technical expertise, operational leadership, and strategic insight to ensure consistent, high-quality appraisal outcomes across Canada. You will drive performance improvement, reduce leakage, and ensure compliance with internal standards and industry best practices. What You’ll Do: Lead National QA Strategy: Design, implement, and oversee a robust quality assurance framework for auto appraisals, ensuring alignment with Aviva’s operational goals and regulatory requirements. Drive Performance Excellence: Use data and insights to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement in appraisal quality and claims outcomes. Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with regional appraisal leaders, claims operations, risk, and compliance teams to embed quality and consistency across the appraisal lifecycle. Conduct Quality Reviews: Oversee thematic reviews, leakage studies, and mandatory control testing to assess accuracy, consistency, and adherence to best practices. Coach and Develop Talent: Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to QA specialists and appraisal leaders to build capability and drive continuous improvement. Champion Innovation: Leverage technology and data tools (e.g., Qlik, Excel, Mitchell Estimation) to streamline processes, enhance reporting, and future-proof the appraisal function. Ensure Compliance: Maintain high standards of operational risk management, compliance, and governance across all appraisal activities. Support Strategic Initiatives: Contribute to national planning, change initiatives, and enterprise projects impacting the appraisal and claims ecosystem. What You’ll Bring: 7+ years of experience in auto appraisal, estimation, or claims leadership. Proven experience in quality assurance, risk management, or operational excellence. Strong knowledge of auto repair industry standards, legislation, and estimation platforms (e.g., Mitchell). Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and collaboration across diverse teams. Advanced analytical skills with experience in data interpretation and performance reporting. Strong communication, coaching, and presentation skills. CIP/FCIP designation or equivalent is an asset. Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.
