Context The Revenue Growth Management (RGM) manager is the essential enabler for facilitating and delivering against the Diageo Canada pricing agenda of balanced price and mix growth higher than the industry. You will support, develop and implement value through building strategic reports, local/provincial headline pricing, trade/portfolio mix, and identifying efficiencies in promotional spend. This role is encouraged to identify, support, and drive the execution of insights into commercial action with our DIAGEO sales performance leads; realizing the value from the following activities: M&E, pricing playbooks, monthly/quarterly price review meetings, Volume Price Mix (VPM), promotional plan and trade spend optimization, and using analytical tools. About the role Ensures the pricing agenda and broader RGM processes run efficiently for Diageo to optimize GSV, revenue, and profitability in the medium and long-term, as well as providing leadership and best practices to other RGM team members and the broader organization. Identifies key brand level RGM opportunities and cascades insights and recommendations to the RGM team and broader business, with specific partnership with the key partners (Commercial, Finance, Marketing, Innovation, Canadian Leadership Team). Drives internal relationship building capabilities, processes, and tools in the RGM space to accelerate data insights into commercial action. Decision Making This role requires robust business partner management, negotiation and influencing skills. Independent, resourceful, and thought-provoking individual, who leads the recommendation of national strategic pricing direction. Facilitates the evaluation of where and how we spend our pricing investments. Creative problem solver who can support deal modeling and gap close conceptualization sessions along with bridging national strategy to local execution. Using reporting tools such as Volume Price Mix files to identify key drivers and variances, while being able to prioritize actions against focus brands and categories. Understands the impact decisions will have on the commercial landscape. Financial Responsibility Price/mix/margin delivery of AOP targets in Canada Evaluate broader business understanding of Opportunities and Risks related to RGM deliverables/metrics Data based recommendations and M&E on Innovation value delivery (in-year and multi-year) Multi-year NSV/cs and price planning, in tandem with Commercial Finance Management Responsibility Reports into the Canadian Strategy & Planning Director This role is pivotal in motivating change in the RGM culture, creating a high-energy, positive environment, leading by example, and providing support RGM team and cross-functionally Assists Strategy & Planning Director and Canadian LT to drive accountability to implement the RGM agenda Leads Brand and Innovation price strategy development Leads National RGM best practice development (tools, process, execution, M&E) Role Responsibilities Takes an active leadership role in assisting the Strategy & Planning Director on developing a high-performing team, bringing our Purpose to Life, through best practice setting, aiding in the development of RGM team members, and driving RGM capability development cross-functionally Deliver RGM value through price and mix that is ahead of the industry and categories in Canada Set national price direction for both headline price and promotional guidelines for all brands Ensure realistic GMP targets are set and achieved Lead/assist national brand/commercial analysis and opportunity identification (Price, Mix, Promo, Rate-of-Sale/Distribution/Channel, Innovation) RGM lead on national brand/category deep-dives Lead innovation price strategy development as a key member of the Innovation process, including ensuring realistic Innovation P&L development, and ensuring Innovation pricing guidelines are implemented in all markets Lead/assist in national RGM system/tool development as needed Ensure all relevant cross-functional partners have and understanding of market regulatory environment as it relates to pricing Assist Strategy & Planning Director in cross-functional RGM capability development Skills /experience required Requires in-depth understanding of RGM levers (Headline Pricing, Promotional Effectiveness and Trade Terms, Pack and Format Architecture, and Brand/Size/Portfolio Mix) Requires in-depth knowledge of Canadian Alc Bev Price/Promo regulatory environment The expert for DIAGEO Canada on analyzing, setting, and communicating brand price strategies Able to help lead the development, implementation, and training of new RGM analytical techniques, tools, and processes Deep understanding of turning brand strategy into commercial value creation for the organization in the medium to long-term Demonstrates commercial experience (finance, category/commercial insights, and/or sales) to guide internal conversations with Commercial, Finance, Brand, and Canadian Leadership Requires critical technical skill and systems ability on internal and syndicated data sources and reporting tools Be an expert on all market value chains and pricing regulations Understands medium to long-term vision and ambition of DIAGEO Canada and all Brands Minimum of 5 years of Pricing/RGM experience, preferably in the Beverage Alcohol or Consumer Packaged Goods industry. Strong expertise in P&L levers Consistent track record in analytical or commercial sales/finance roles, commercial acumen is key Expertise in one or more of: pricing/promo analytics, tool development, syndicated data, trade terms optimization, promotional effectiveness, finance Familiarity with multiple data sources ex. sales data, financial data, and consumer data Experience as a business user lead in technology/tool development Excellent written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking; collaborating with brand/category teams and other key internal/external partners; effective in influencing wide variety of partners Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) and systems proficiency, PowerBI, Anaplan a bonus Flexible Working Statement Flexibility is key to our success.
