Job Description The Accounts Payable Specialist provides financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization. This role is responsible for full-cycle accounts payable, ensuring invoices are received, processed, verified, and reconciled in a timely manner. The specialist will process payments, investigate discrepancies, and work closely with internal stakeholders, corporate entities and external vendors, to ensure accuracy and efficiency. This position reports to the Manager, Accounts Payable and supports a portfolio of entities within the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manage high-volume, full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice receipt, entry, processing, and payment execution. Ensure proper coding of invoices and accuracy in legal entity, cost center, and project allocations. Process vendor payments via EFTs, cheques, and wire transfers, ensuring timeliness and accuracy. Verify intercompany transactions between multiple entities and currencies. Maintain regular communication with internal stakeholders to drive efficiency in Accounts Payable processes. Investigate vendor inquiries and discrepancies, providing resolutions and ensuring accurate and timely payments. Support month-end and year-end closing procedures, including account reconciliations, accruals and payment reporting. Assist with cash management, funding transfers, and general ledger postings, as needed. Provide ownership and independence in managing Accounts Payable functions with minimal supervision. Handle ad-hoc treasury, invoice, payment-related tasks, and other duties as required. Qualifications: Hands-on experience with invoice entry and handling invoices from receipt to payment. Exposure to various payment methods with an understanding of payment approval workflows. Strong problem-solving skills to investigate payment discrepancies and vendor inquiries. Ability to work independently and take ownership of Accounts Payable responsibilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products. Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience using Yardi would be beneficial. Minimum Requirements: 3+ years of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience with a strong understanding of invoice processing, payment execution, and financial controls. Proven experience processing payments, including EFTs, cheques, and wire transfers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams. Work Schedule: This is a hybrid role. The position is remote on Mondays and Fridays, with in-office attendance required from Tuesday to Thursday.
