Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. Our Program Management Office is looking for a Quality Process Specialist in order to map processes, with an eye to efficiency, effectiveness and integration to an ISO9001 certified quality management system. The Process Specialist will provide expertise and collaborate with continual improvement task force teams to design new processes and/or optimize the current processes based on process improvement methods such as Lean and Six Sigma.
Under the direction of the Senior Manager, CPG Quality Management, this role is accountable for facilitating process mapping workshops in CPG and assisting the Functional Leads, SMEs and senior members of Project Delivery Teams (PDTs) to map out their current practices.
What will I be doing?
Reporting to Senior Manager, CPG Quality Management and responsible for process engineering and designing business processes for CPG in cooperation with Functional Leads, PDTs and external consultants.
Coordinates process mapping workshops to identify and map out the high level processes based on current practices.
Provides expert advice to the process owners for optimizing current processes based on process improvement methods such as Lean and Six Sigma.
Collaborates with the continual improvement team to develop business processes based on industry standard and best practices.
Works with SMEs in different functions to develop detailed (activity level) processes for their day to day activities.
Cooperates with cross functional teams to integrate their individual processes into CPG’s QMS (integrated network of processes).
Develops and implements effective process mapping strategies and practices, incorporating industry best practices.
Develops and cultivates key relationships with a wide number of internal and external stakeholders, including process owners, process sponsors, , SMEs, PDTs and continual improvement team.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Analytics, Engineering, Science) or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
Demonstrated experience in quality management with experience in continual improvement and process design/re-design
Experience in the construction quality is an asset
Certified blackbelt or master blackbelt Six Sigma, and Certified Lean Specialist from a recognized Institution is required. Certification in other process optimization methods would be an asset.
Demonstrable exceptional technical skills in process designand process improvement methods.
Highly knowledgeable in quality management principles and practices based on ISO 9001 standard.
Deep understanding of broader project management theory, principles and practices.
Highly articulate with process mapping tools such as MS Visio, Lucid chart and K2.
Excellent people skills and ability to communicate / interface effectively across the organization
