The Welding Inspector is to inspect and ensure that proper welding and Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) procedures are qualified and utilized, the NDE personnel used are certified, the welders are qualified, sound welds are produced, and proper documentation is maintained. These activities must be performed in accordance with the appropriate Company The Welding Inspector will:• Using stop work authority, will immediately stop work activity, and notify Contractor supervision of unsafe conditions and/or acts and ensure all site personnel are aware of their obligation to do so as well.• Ensure that the contractor is implementing their Project Site-Specific Safety Plan (P/SSSP).• Ensure that the contractor is following applicable welding requirements for the project.• Review and understand contractor Safe Work Practices & Job Safety/Hazard Analysis for the work they are assigned to oversee and hold contractor accountable to execute the work to the per the procedures. This includes participation in daily tailgate/tailboard meetings and field level hazard assessments (FLHA).• Oversee the welding activities to ensure compliance (e.g., drawings, specifications, codes, standards, regulations, contractors’ site-specific quality plan/contract) and the Contractor is using proper PPE for welding activities.• Work with the contractor to ensure that stakeholder and local community commitments within their scope are tracked and implemented.• Ensure ITPs are completed as the work is being progressed and relevant documentation is reviewed and accepted by the client.• Create and foster a positive work environment and a proactive/mature safety culture with the inspection staff.• Achieve the successful execution of the welding scope and all desired outcomes and deliverables.• Monitor construction and as required influence corrective action with the Contractor.• Identify and report construction non-conformance issues. Provide leadership, expertise, and guidance to the welding personnel (Senior Welding Inspector).• Records management associated with welding documentation (Senior Welding Inspector).• Ensure design deviations are properly red lined and drawings are sent to the Construction Manager for as-building.• Identify innovation and value creation opportunities related to construction.• Participation in lessons learned and close-out meeting(s).• Verify that the Contractor’s Quality Program is being followed.• Complete the daily inspection reports in accordance with applicable Company Inspection Standards.
