Job Description: Position Purpose summary Under the guidance of Food Services Manager, the kitchen helper assists in providing food services and clean up. Basic Functions: Follows the "Time Management Schedule" draft by the Manager: Food Services. The main function of this position is that of COOKS HELPER. Assists the cook in the preparation of specific food items, and with the serving of food. Washes all crockery, cutlery, dishes, saucepans and pots used in the operation of the kitchen and dining room. Attends to bussing dishes from the dining room. Always maintains dining room tables and chairs in a clean and tidy condition for all dining room clients. Cleans kitchen floors and other specified areas. Assists the Front Desk staff in Fire Emergencies May perform other related duties as assigned. The above responsibilities must be discharged in accordance with The Salvation Army’s Mission Statement, in a professional manner, exemplifying Christian standards of conduct. education and experience Qualifications: No specific academic education is required. Must be able to read and write. One-year minimum kitchen/restaurant helper experience is required. Food Safe 1 basic is a requirement of employment. If applicable, Occupational First Aid is to be taken after being hired. Must understand and reflect the ARC Philosophy, Standards, and Tenets. Initially, must provide own safety work boots. Must provide verification of negative TB skin test. Must provide a Criminal Record Check. Must reflect and understand the ARC philosophy, standards and tenets The salary range is based on the Collective Agreement, not any other factors. Compensation: The target hiring range for this position is $22.53 to $23.03 with a maximum of $23.53. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
