Early access to a pension plan with various perks to acknowledge your contributions to the organization.Job DescriptionWe are currently hiring for an Airborne Mission Systems Technician to work at our customer site in Trenton for our Manned Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (MAISR) In-Service Support Program.This is a long-term program in which GDMS–C and our partner, Voyageur Aviation, will provide a full-suite of maintenance and engineering services for the Royal Canadian Air Forces’ new fleet of Beechcraft King-Air 350 Extended Range aircraft and its ground training devices. The services include airworthiness, program management, flight safety, maintenance, material management, technical publications, and engineering support to modifications. We will provide these services at their Main Operating Base (MOB) – 8 Wing, Trenton, Ontario and wherever and whenever the aircraft are deployed internationally in support of DND operations.Responsibilities include:Serving as the primary Team CERTAS (Canadian Enhanced Remote Tactical Air Surveillance) subject matter expert for the MAISR PME, including its Mission Management System, the PTT and the SILDevelop and manage personnel, processes and tools related to the delivery of maintenance that supports a very high level of aircraft availabilityProvide training, coaching, guidance and support to the Voyageur Aviation AMEs and technicians associated with the maintenance and troubleshooting of the aircraft PME, the Part Task Trainer and the SIL.Liaise with and provide support to internal and external customers and the Fielded Systems Support Services team for the delivery of comprehensive customer serviceDevelop and maintain the relationship with WSM, end-customer personnel and OEMs for all PME related elements of the MAISR aircraft, including its Mission Management System software and all sensor systems.Maintain an awareness of future upgrades, capabilities and enhancements that could deliver additional value to the MAISR customersLiaise with WSM, WSM Liaison, Airworthiness Senior Design Engineer, Configuration Management (CM) and Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and training matters pertaining to the MAISR fleet and its support systems (PTT and SIL).Represent Team CERTAS at meetings with OEMs and with customers in matters related to the performance of the PME. This is expected to include Operator working groups, meetings, IPTs, presentations and preparation of reportsQualificationsDiploma as an Information Systems Technician, Avionics Technician or equivalentRelevant aircraft experienceDeep understanding of cybersecurity and networkingExperienced at working as part of a team and leading teamsExperience with military or defence projectsExperienced at working with FSRs, AMEs and/or aircraft maintenance techniciansExperienced and skillful in customer relationsAbility to resolve technical issues including replication in a SIL environmentAssetsBilingualism (English/French)Detailed knowledge of Project planning, execution, and controlKnowledge of Transport Canada or the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airworthiness Certification regulationsIn depth understanding of the DND Airworthiness Program, including the Technical Airworthiness ManualDeep understanding of aircraft installation, sensor integration and the airborne sensor systems typically found in ISR applicationsExperienced at working under field conditionsExperienced with installation and other fielding, delivery and/or retrofit projects It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed.
