Position Summary To coordinate and enact the activities of the Blending department so that resources are maximized to produce the highest quality product, minimize operating costs, meet all production schedules and provide a high degree of customer service. Coordinate with team to brainstorm and consult on continuous improvement efforts that enhance long term efficiencies of the department. Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities OHSA - Ensure compliance of Occupational Health & Safety Act (section 25, 26, 27, and 28). Comply with all HWS management systems and with all Health and Safety policies and legislation. Direct supervision of Blending Process Operators in a two-shift operation managing activities and head count requirements in conjunction with the Process Lead. Manage highly automated blending software using PLC program linking DCS Software to MRP System. Liaison between Automation & Production teams. Contribute insight and data to the daily shift toolbox talks. Root cause analysis of non conformaties to achieve target of zero. Ensure all department KPI’s are upheld while keeping production facility clean & clear. Financial responsibility for Operating Costs: $150,000CDN. Lead and support departmental projects from inception through to completion. Proper planning of tank usage, transfers, path optimization & cleaning. Handle component and supplies receivals while maintaining proper inventory management. Ensure traceability and compliance to excise requirements as well as retaining and storing for audit purposes. Maintenance – Identification, Work order Entry, Lock out Tag Out, RCA meetings. Drive process improvement initiatives to reduce CO2, water/air usage, liquid waste, process downtime and increase processing efficiencies. Cross departmental training capabilities for increased business knowledge. Ensure production requirements are met: Distillery – timely receipt of new distillate from Distillery to supply D&F, Bulk & Bottling. Drain & Fill – timely provision of drain tanks / new distillate per Drain & Fill schedule. Bulk – timely loading/unloading of Tankers & Railcars as per bulk schedule. Bottling – timely processing of blends to specification & equipment troubleshooting to meet bottling schedule. Internal, regular work-related contact with: Drain & Fill, Distillery and Bottling Supervisors - Production Support. Bottling Planner, Bulk Planner - Production planning. Director of Research - Project consultation. Quality Assurance Technicians – Production requirements. External, regular work-related contact with: Excise- Information exchange. Contractors- consulting/reviewing. Suppliers- consultations/reviewing. Key Requirements Proven experience in change management and implementation within bottling operations and workforce initiatives. Advanced regulatory and technical expertise with a deep understanding of industry standards. Strong financial acumen, including experience in budgeting and financial management. Experience working in a unionized environment is considered an asset. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) with advanced computer skills. Education: Post Secondary education required. Technical Degree in Engineering, Business or Process Automation. Experience / Background: 5-10 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment, specializing in Lean, SMED, TPM, and Six Sigma methodologies. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Teams). Functionally control Kronos (labour tracking) & MRP Systems. Advanced Computer Literacy & Mathematical Proficiency. Mechanical Knowledge (Pumps, Motors, Valves). Good understanding of fluid dynamics, process flow and piping circuitry. PLC/SCADA/Control systems knowledge considered a strong asset. Ability to react to changes in fast paced environment. High degree of focus on tasks, despite distractions.
