Job Purpose
The Architecture Technical Specialist is responsible for conducting research and developing content for solution designs for strategic projects for Coast Capital Savings. The role will document technical solutions being implemented by the IT department to explain how the solutions are aligned with organizational goals, objectives and adhere to Enterprise Architecture reference frameworks. The Architecture Technical Specialist provides documentation expertise and assistance to Solution Architects and Enterprise Architect. They will create logical and physical diagrams that illustrate current state infrastructure, data and application architecture.
Accountabilities
Review new and existing architectural design documentation for compliance with standards and architectural plans
Develop, document, communicate and enforce a policy for standardizing documentation and diagrams as necessary
Report progress status and forecasts; establish project timelines, resources, budget needs; track & manage progress; report project issues and generate viable solutions; report project risks and generate risk mitigation activities
Conduct research on emerging technologies
Integrate source material and feedback from subject matter experts into documentation and diagrams to ensure solutions are accurately described and explained
Document the company's existing systems architecture and technology portfolio; make recommendations for improving documentation practices
Actively participate as a member of Enterprise Architecture team by attending solution design meetings
Attend and actively participate in weekly team meetings
Liaise with key business analysts, system engineers, information security to document and diagram core system and application architecture to support CCS growth needs
Facilitate all documentation infrastructure/application gaps to ensure CCS estate is documented end-to-end
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
Proven ability to write effectively for technical and non-technical audiences
Experience creating slide decks and presenting to a variety of audiences
Strong research and analytical skills to understand technology trends and incorporate findings into architectural strategies
Effective project management capabilities to engage stakeholders and deliver on Annual Digital Roadmap
Strong SharePoint and Website design skillsets, with SharePoint administration experience an asset
Previous consultancy experience an asset
