User Experience (UX) Designer In Scope Temporary, Full-Time Location: Regina Head Office, Saskatoon Central Claims, Moose Jaw Claims, Prince Albert Claims Term: 1 year Pay Range: $68,721.00 - $86,722.00 Closes August 12, 2025 Work Location: This role is eligible for hybrid work. This means you’ll have the flexibility of working from home and in the office on a scheduled rotation. The successful candidate is responsible for designing functional, enjoyable and accessible experiences in digital products to solve customer problems and fulfill business requirements. In this role you will conduct user research, plan, design, validate/test with user through feedback or behavior observations and present the design solution to the business. You will be the voice of the user and advocate for the users’ needs while balancing the business goals. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Note: This section is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities – other duties and responsibilities may be assigned. Conceptual Design Designs user interfaces with a focus on usability, accessibility and scalability. Designs process and user flows of applications and websites. Provides design rationale for proposed solutions and interprets client requirements to project stakeholders. Designs and develops menu, labeling and navigation schemes with consultation from the Content Strategist. Creates interactive prototypes or simulations to depict project requirements, flow and application behavior. Creates the visual supports needed to depict business and technical requirements to management and development teams including but not limited to wireframes. Defines the nature and functionality of elements within a selected device platform. Uses proper affordances and constraints in UI elements. Integrates and adheres to SGI’s design standards and best practices of usability and human-computer interaction into design concepts. Collaborates in the establishment and maintenance of SGI’s design system. Collaborates with business areas, front-end and back-end development teams on large multi-divisional corporate projects. User Research and Assessment Documents applicable approaches for solutions to be implemented. Reviews business and technical requirements provides time estimates on actual design and feedback where applicable. Researches, understands and utilize where appropriate, next-generation UI, user centric models and psychology. Plans and facilitates user research and testing studies. TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Knowledge of user experience design methods (design thinking, user research, information architecture, user interface design, interaction design and user testing). Knowledge of visual design and communication principles. Knowledge of design programs and tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Mac OS, prototyping tools). Knowledge of accessibility design. Knowledge of design systems Knowledge of agile development or product management practices. EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS Four-year degree from an accredited post-secondary education institution in a relevant field of study such as Business, Social Sciences or Information Technology, or defined equivalency. Certification in information architecture, UX design, accessibility. EXPERIENCE 1 – 2 years’ experience in user experience, interaction design or digital media design.
