Lyrical Security is hiring! We're seeking a skilled, results-driven, and technically capable Technical Sales Specialist to join our growing team. This role is essential to understand customers’ requirements and to help customers understand, adopt, and gain value from our cybersecurity services by clearly aligning our capabilities with their business needs.
The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, confident in high-stakes situations, and able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. A strong background in cybersecurity services—particularly MSSP solutions—and the ability to create high-quality, client-facing materials are key to success in this role.
What You’ll Do
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their security needs and aligning them with Lyrical Security’s solutions.
Translate customer security requirements into tailored cybersecurity solutions, providing detailed proposals, RFP responses, and statements of work.
Serve as a subject matter expert on cybersecurity offerings including SOC-as-a-Service, penetration testing, vulnerability management, patch management, and advisory services.
Support channel partners and alliances with technical training, proactive growth plans, and joint sales engagements.
Collaborate with partner account executives and sales support functions to identify and qualify sales opportunities through discovery calls, client meetings, and presentations.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across customers and channel partners spanning mid-market, commercial, and enterprise market segments across North America.
Conduct technical presentations, solution demos, and workshops to prospective clients.
Collaborate with service delivery teams to provide feedback, ensure solutions meet customer/market demands, ensure solution feasibility, with proper hand-off.
Assist in the creation of sales-related documentation, proposals, RFP responses, and marketing collateral relevant to cybersecurity services.
Stay current with industry trends, threat landscapes, technologies, and competitor offerings to position our services effectively.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in related field; or equivalent experience.
5+ years in technical sales or pre-sales engineering in cybersecurity or MSSP environments.
Demonstrated success setting sales objectives, tracking, adapting, and achieving/exceeding targets in a high growth environment.
Strong understanding of security concepts and leading technologies (SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Vulnerability Management, GRC, etc.).
Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and securing cloud-native environments.
Understanding of compliance standards and frameworks (GDPR, NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, etc.).
Demonstrated ability to remain composed, client-focused, and solution-oriented in complex or challenging situations.
Ability to build trust with clients and partners through focused and adaptive consultative interactions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), with the ability to create polished, professional client-facing documents and presentations.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM, or other industry-specific credentials) are a plus.
