Who We Are Looking For
Accreditation Canada is seeking experienced health care professionals residing permanently in Canada, to join our team of over 500 surveyors.
This role is ideal for those with clinical expertise as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Medical Doctor (Physician), Social Worker, Counsellor or Occupational Therapist.
We invite applicants with experience in one or multiple of the following sectors to apply: Acute Care, Health Systems, Independent Medical Surgery Facilities, Home Care, Acquired Brain Injury, Assisted Reproductive Technology, Developmental Disabilities, Staffing Agencies, Substance Use, Virtual Health, Indigenous Health Services.
Your Impact
As a surveyor, you will:
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to conduct on-site surveys.
Assess organizational programs and services against standards of excellence, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Share your expertise to guide organizations in adopting best practices and achieving better outcomes.
Key Details
Location: Canada
Time Commitment: Minimum of two surveys per year (approximately 10 days).
Support: Receive initial training, ongoing professional development, a modest honorarium, and full travel reimbursement as per expense policy. Earn continuing education credits from the First Nations Health Managers Association (FNHMA), Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL), Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), and the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
Required Qualifications
Employment in an organization accredited by Accreditation Canada or a partner organization and located within Canada.
Senior-level experience working in one or more of these areas: Acute Care, Health Systems, Independent Medical Surgery Facilities, Home Care, Acquired Brain Injury, Assisted Reproductive Technology, Developmental Disabilities, Staffing Agencies, Substance Use, Virtual Health, Indigenous Health Services.
Clinical expertise as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Medical Doctor (Physician), Social Worker, Counsellor or Occupational Therapist with valid licensure.
Experience working with patients, clinicians, administrators, or governance teams on service design or quality improvement initiatives and a strong commitment to improving care quality.
Proficiency in English (writing and communication)
Proficiency in technology.
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills with a positive, adaptable attitude.
Knowledge of Accreditation Canada programs and accreditation processes.
Preferred Qualifications
Fluency in French, Italian, German, Greek or Spanish (speaking and understand).
Experience in additional sectors such as Cancer Care or Mental Health hospitals.
