This person should have strong interpersonal skills and experience in structural engineering design/analysis. Project management experience will be considered an asset. This is an opportunity to be part of an established newer team with room to grow and participate in multidisciplinary projects and work with professionals that are contributing to the successful growth of their team and business. This is a hybrid position based in the St John's, NL region with travel to Labrador City, NL (minimum quarterly, or as needed per project).Primary ResponsibilitiesWork with a team of structural engineers for both work management and mentoringWork within a multidisciplinary design team as a Project Engineer, reporting to the Project ManagerComplete site visits to document existing conditions in both greenfield and brownfield projectsCarry out structural detailed design / analysis (related to General Arrangements, structural steel, concrete, etc.)Prepare detailed drawing review and mark-ups for designers/draftersComplete budgetary estimates, write proposals, technical reports and studiesFamiliar with structural analysis software (STAAD Pro, S Frame, SAP2000, SAFIReview and approve structural fabrication drawingsParticipate in formal engineering review processesComplete projects from kick-off through completion of Construction / CommissioningWork on industrial (with focus on mining and hydroelectric facilities), commercial, institutional, and government projectsQualificationsUniversity Degree in Civil EngineeringRegistered or able to register as an Engineer with the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland & Labrador (PEGNL) – an asset5-10 or more years of relevant experienceProven experience in the mining industry an assetCapacity to interact within a multidisciplinary environmentClient-focused, keen to understand their problems and recommend solutionsMust be willing to travel to remote work sites.
