We are seeking a Co-Op Actuarial student to join our Robertson, Eadie & Associates team in Oakville for the fall term (September through December). The Co-Op Actuarial Student, will: Assist in day-to-day administrative tasks including calculation of pension benefits under various types of plans and preparation of pension documentation for clients and plan members Prepare actuarial valuation of pension plans from first principles with hands on training from experienced FCIAs Assist in the regulatory processes; such as preparing year-end pension statements, annual information returns and quarterly pension adjustment reversals Draft professional reports and correspondence Assist with special projects To be successful as a Co-Op Actuarial Student Student with Robertson, Eadie & Associates, you will need: To be a university student in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or related discipline Advanced competency with Microsoft Excel Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint and Outlook Strong analytical skills Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy The ability to manage and prioritize competing demands in order to meet client and company needs The ability to work independently and in a team environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Sensitivity to confidential information To be actively writing Society of Actuaries (SOA) or Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) exams Knowledge of actuarial valuation software (e.g., ProVal) is an asset Robertson, Eadie & Associates, a subsidiary of People Corporation, is a firm of actuaries and pension consultants located in Oakville, Ontario.
