Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to join our Waterloo team. As a vital member of our team, you will be involved in the full software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, automated/integration testing, and maintenance. Our development environment is rooted in SAFe/Scrum methodologies, promoting innovation and knowledge transfer through daily interactions among developers, testers, and product managers. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement microservices and APIs optimized for cloud environments Work closely with the members of the team (PO, scrum master, other devs, V&V) and distributed teams across different time zones to bring together diverse perspectives to solve complex challenges Take ownership of existing codebases, ensuring stability, performance, and maintainability. Skills and Experience: > 5 years of experience with professional software engineering Capable of solving complex problems with deep analysis skills Strong attention to detail and ability to quickly absorb new concepts and technologies. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Java Solid understanding of Oracle & SQL. Experience with deploying microservices to a cloud- native environment (Kubernetes) Writing automated tests on all levels of the testing pyramid (unit, API, e2e) A commitment to quality software development. Experience with the following tech stack is desired: J2EE, JBOSS, JUNIT, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Helm Charts, Rancher, Git, Gradle/Maven Understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance.
