Who we need
We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant Manager to join our team and
lead a direct report. You will play an essential role in driving our financial
success by analyzing costs, preparing pricing strategies, and enhancing
processes that support operational efficiency. Through accurate pricing,
proactive cost management, and identifying opportunities for continuous
improvement, you will enhance opportunities for profitability. You will work
closely with cross-functional teams, combining advanced analytical skills with
technical expertise to develop tools and processes that streamline reporting and
decision-making.
This is a full time, hybrid role working 2-3 days a week onsite at our location
in Brampton.

How you will make an impact:
- Optimize pricing and profitability. You will prepare and renew cost quotes
for both new and existing business opportunities, ensuring pricing aligns
with current costs, market trends, and strategic goals. You will provide
actionable recommendations to enhance customer profitability and margin
performance.
- Deliver data-driven insights. You will provide detailed costing commentary to
identify key cost drivers, empowering the customer sales team with robust
analysis to inform decision-making.
- Enhance financial processes. You will lead the month-end close process,
including journal entries, account reconciliations, and detailed account
analysis. You will support the year-end costing and budgeting processes to
ensure financial accuracy and accountability.
- Drive continuous improvement. You will develop and implement innovative tools
and processes to streamline costing workflows and enhance reporting accuracy.
You will champion process improvement initiatives to manage pricing renewals
effectively and boost overall efficiency.
- Collaborate. You will work cross-functionally to ensure alignment on costing
strategies, fostering a unified approach to financial decision-making and
operational success. You will lead the work of a direct report, providing
guidance and support.
What you bring:
- The experience. You have in-depth experience in a cost analysis or financial
analyst role, leveraging your knowledge of analytical and financial
practices. You are a CPA or CPA candidate with the ability to apply your
financial expertise to forecast risk, build standard customer quotes, and
identify opportunities for process optimization. You have experience
collaborating cross-functionally to gain an understanding of unique needs and
respond with accurate quotes or other financial information. You have
exposure to the manufacturing industry, ideally in the food production
industry, with a deep understanding of its unique financial and operational
needs.
- The technical skills. You are highly proficient in Excel and Power BI. You
can build financial models and collect, manage, analyze, and present data
effectively. You have the ability to build and implement new, robust
reporting tools and processes.
- The drive. You have the confidence and knowledge to take on a new role and
increased responsibilities, taking ownership of your deliverables. You can
pivot to meet the challenges of an environment undergoing an exciting
transformation. You have outstanding decision-making skills and can address
challenges in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. You thrive in a busy
environment and can balance multiple priorities, navigating complex problems
with efficiency and focus.
- The interpersonal skills. You have professional written and verbal skills and
believe in empowering the business with clear communication. You can build
trusting and influential relationships across all teams. You have experience
leading a small team, supporting and guiding their work.
