Job Description: The Packaging machine operator is responsible for the addition of raw material components into our finished wine kits on the production line. The employee also is the final visual quality check that filled bladders are properly sealed. Employee assists with production line size changeovers. Employee is additionally responsible for assembly of additive packages for finished wine kits. Part of co-manufacturing team for completing special projects as required. Key Responsilities: Plans daily activities to deliver finished wine kits to the production line in accordance with the daily production schedule. Assures compliance of all packaging activities to company policy and health and safety. Follows provided work instructions and standard operating procedures. Ensures that product quality parameters are met at all times in the packaging process. Communicates with the Production Supervisor on potential packaging constraints to assist in organizing the short term production schedule. Uses inventory principle (FIFO) for proper raw material rotation to ensure that optimal freshness of raw materials are maintained. In cooperation with the production team contributes to the continuous improvement program, offering improvement suggestions and assisting with implementation of ideas. Assures compliance with all departmental sanitation policies and procedures. Communicates with maintenance and supervisors regarding equipment issues and breakages. Applies knowledge and skills to resolve packaging quality issues. Participates in inventory physical counts. Assists with co-manufacturing work order completions as required. Travel to other Arterra facilities to assist in other production projects as required. Transportation provided in these instances. Any additional tasks that may be assigned. Working Conditions: Manages daily workload and prioritizes work to be done according to specific deadlines and production schedule. Communicates with Kitchener Operations employees and QA/maintenance staff. Substantial attention to detail in all aspects of duties.
