Job Description: Restores, maintains and enhances the recovery of clients seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related impacts by implementing various modalities of addiction recovery programs.

Addictions Counselling diploma
Licenses
Valid Class 5 driver's license
Competencies
Advanced - Problem solving skills
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge in co-current disorders and issues related to gambling addictions
Demonstrate knowledge in addiction(s) and their effects on the individual.
Knowledge in holistic addictions treatment model
Knowledge in group dynamics
Knowledge in various mental health and addiction and harm reduction strategies
Knowledge in Developmental Model of Recovery
Knowledge in Transtheoretical model of change
Knowledge in applying a cognitive-behavioral or other major modes of therapy
Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Knowledge in factors affecting family dynamics
Ability to screen for addictions and/or addiction related symptoms
Knowledge of addictions interventions involving drugs, alcohol or tobacco
