Animal Care Attendant, VCA Canada Mississauga-Oakville Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital – Specialty services (Internal Medicine) Employment Type: 3 month contract VCA Canada Mississauga-Oakville is currently recruiting for a dependable and outgoing Animal Care Attendant to join our clinic. This temporary 3 month contract opportunity includes a range of responsibilities within various units within the hospital, which directly attributes to the efficient and effective daily operation of the hospital. The initial role will be focused in the Internal Medicine department, but may expand into other departments based on hospital need. Previous experience in a Veterinary Hospital is an asset. Key responsibilities Caring for our patients; feeding, walking and offering a gentle voice of assurance Ensure animal housing or enclosure is clean, sanitary and comfortable Assisting the veterinary staff with various procedures, tasks and treatments Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for patients and pet parents Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease and creating a welcoming environment General housekeeping duties Key attributes Willingness to learn more regarding veterinary services and updated medical procedures Compassion and nurturing attitude Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and maintain a high quality of care in a busy environment Ability to adapt in changing situations Team spirt Learning offered Our Internal Medicine ACAs have the opportunity to work with and learn from our RVTs and ACAs as well as our board-certified Internal Medicine Specialists.
