Join Amazon's Strategic Workforce Planning (WFP) team to lead the development of
scalable software solutions that optimize workforce composition, organizational
structure, and geographical footprint across Amazon's operations.
As a Software Development Manager III, you will:
Lead and manage a team of software engineers building critical workforce
planning capabilities including forecasting, scenario modeling, and
operationalization tools
Own the technical roadmap and architecture for WFP systems, ensuring
scalability, reliability and integration with other workforce and HR systems
Partner closely with business stakeholders in Amazon's Lines of Business,
Finance, and HR to translate complex workforce requirements into technical
solutions
Drive execution and delivery of high-impact WFP software projects, managing
scope, timelines, risks and dependencies
Collaborate with other technical leaders to establish integration patterns and
best practices across workforce planning systems
Mentor and develop your team of engineers, providing growth opportunities and
career guidance
Implement metrics and mechanisms to measure the impact and success of WFP
solutions
Lead with a customer-obsessed mindset, continuously improving workforce planning
capabilities to optimize costs and efficiency
Basic Qualifications: - 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and
scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services
experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full
software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards,
code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing,
certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams Preferred
Qualifications: - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams,
and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product
features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of
Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective,
product software engineers

The base salary for this position ranges from $171,400/year up to $286,200/year.
Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related
knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of
compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in
