Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and analytical Category Manager – Pharmacy Solutions to
join our national merchandising team. Reporting to the Director of
Merchandising, this role is responsible for managing and optimizing a portfolio
of pharmacy-related categories, while supporting member engagement and driving
growth through data-driven decision-making and strategic supplier collaboration.
The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of the Canadian retail
pharmacy landscape, demonstrated experience with vendor partnerships, and a
proven ability to execute category strategies that support both the banner and
its independent members.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement category strategies for pharmacy-focused product lines
(e.g., diabetes, packaging, automation, compounding and various front shop
solutions)
- Collaborate with vendors to negotiate competitive pricing, promotional plans,
and value-added programs
- Build and manage relationships with strategic healthcare partners to deliver
innovative and differentiated solutions
- Analyze sales performance, market trends, and member feedback to identify
growth opportunities and optimize category mix
- Support the execution of national flyers, vendor programs, and member-facing
merchandising communications
- Work cross-functionally with Pharmacy Services, Marketing and Operations to
ensure alignment with strategic objectives
- Lead vendor business reviews, contract negotiations, and rebate program
evaluations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, health sciences, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in category management preferably in pharmacy, retail
health, or CPG.
- Proven ability to manage complex vendor relationships and execute programs
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel; comfortable working with
large data sets and KPIs
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Familiarity with independent retailers or banner group environments is an
asset
- Knowledge of the Canadian pharmacy and healthcare retail landscape is
strongly preferred
- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
