Job Description: Onni is seeking a highly skilled and analytical Equity Market Analyst to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in evaluating publicly/privately traded companies, with a strong focus on the mining sector. What You Will Do: Conduct detailed financial analysis and valuations of equities, particularly within the resource and mining industries. Build and maintain financial models, including DCF, comparables, and scenario analysis. Monitor and interpret relevant macroeconomic, industry, and company-specific developments that impact investment opportunities. Generate investment ideas supported by thorough research, and communicate these to the broader investment team through written reports and presentations. Track key performance indicators (KPIs), commodity price trends, and regulatory changes affecting mining and related companies. Collaborate with portfolio managers and other analysts to develop sector-specific strategies and identify potential investment risks. What You Will Bring: Minimum 5 years of experience as an equity research analyst, buy-side/sell-side analyst, or a similar role in investment banking or asset management. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline (Master’s or CFA preferred). Deep sector knowledge of commodities, mining operations, and resource-based economies is highly desirable. Demonstrated track record of actionable investment insights and analytical rigor. Strong preference for candidates with experience analyzing or working within the mining or natural resources sector. Solid understanding of global financial markets, with a strong grasp of equity valuation techniques. Proficiency in financial modeling and analytical tools (Excel, Bloomberg, Capital IQ, etc.). Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment. CFA designation or progress toward it is an asset.
