Excavation Technician – Join the Team at Bonfe
Ready to lead in the field and get your hands dirty doing meaningful work? Bonfe is hiring an experienced and motivated Excavation Technician to serve as a Working Lead on sewer and utility construction projects.
This is more than just an operator job — we're looking for someone who’s a natural leader, thrives outdoors, and brings deep technical expertise to every job site. You’ll be hands-on while guiding a small crew through the daily demands of underground utility work. What You’ll Do:
Lead a crew on residential and commercial sewer and utility installation jobs
Operate excavation equipment and tools, including jetters and camera inspection systems
Read and follow construction plans, blueprints, and job specs
Locate underground utilities using industry-standard tools
Keep accurate job documentation and enforce safety protocols
Ensure light mechanical maintenance is completed and tools are job-ready
Work in the field, not behind a desk – every day is hands-on
What You Bring:
5–10 years of experience in underground utility and sewer construction
Valid CDL – no exceptions
Proficiency with jetters, sewer inspection cameras, and locating equipment
Confidence in leading a crew while staying involved in the physical work
Strong trenching and excavation knowledge
Dependable, safety-first mindset and problem-solving ability
Clear communicator who can adapt to changing field conditions
Why Bonfe?
