Job DescriptionAs a Class 1 Local P&D Driver based in Athabasca, you will be responsible for: Conducting daily pick-up and delivery operations in the Athabasca area and surrounding regions, operating both straight trucks and day-cab vehicles on a Monday to Friday schedule, with a 4 am start time and occasional Saturday workEnsuring safety and compliance by performing thorough vehicle inspections, adhering to traffic laws, and maintaining accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and delivery recordsEfficiently managing cargo, including loading, unloading, and securing freight using appropriate equipment and techniquesProviding excellent customer service and maintaining effective communication with dispatch, customers, and team membersContributing to operational efficiency through route optimization, vehicle maintenance, and participation in ongoing training and safety programs Qualifications Class 1 license, able to complete proper pre/post-trip proceduresKnowledge of hours of service, load securement, TDG, WHMIS, and forklift operationReliable, dependable, and hard-workingKnowledge of the Athabasca areaMust be able to provide a criminal record check, driver abstract, and 2 work-related referencesMUST BE WILLING TO RELOCATE to AthabascaMinimum of 2 years of experience as a Class 1 driver, preferably in local pickup and delivery operationsClean driving record with no major violations in the past 3 yearsExcellent time management and organizational skillsStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to lift and handle heavy items up to 50 lbsProficiency in using GPS navigation systems and mobile communication devicesBasic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor vehicle issuesFlexibility to work occasional overtime and Saturdays as neededCustomer service-oriented with a professional demeanor Additional InformationWhat do we offer you?
