Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a Senior Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Pharmasave #406 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
Responsibilities:
Training and mentorship: Coordinate the tasks of pharmacy assistants, may include scheduling, providing coaching and training to ensure tasks are performed correctly and efficiently.
Patient adherence initiatives: Grow patient enrollment in medication adherence initiatives, including compliance packs. Organize, batch, and submit patient orders to central fill (where applicable).
Pharmacy Optimization: Support and champion the standardization of pharmacy best practices and implementation of technology and procedures to ensure optimal and effective workflow.
Inventory Management: Manage and order inventory (including controlled substances), ensure proper storage, and maintain accurate records.
Insurance and Billing: Independent complex order entry, address insurance claims and billing issues, flag concerns to pharmacists, and ensure accurate paperwork submission.
Positive Ambassador: Seek and identify eligible patients for pharmacy programs and services, involved in the community outreach to positively promote our business and help recruit/retain talent.
Leverage advanced skills to support the needs of pharmacy and grow the business.
Miscellaneous tasks to support the Store Operator/Pharmacy Manager and Pharmacist.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in any discipline (certificate, diploma, degree).
3 to 5 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business.
Interest in building a long-term career in pharmacy at Neighbourly Pharmacy.
Proven track record of consistent order entry, proactive exceptional customer service.
Proficient in Kroll or other pharmacy software, ability to teach and coach others in pharmacy software usage.
Experience in advanced skills (e.g., Compounding, automation, central fill, compliance packaging, OAT).
Growth mindset with an ability to quickly learn advanced skills and adapt to change, proficient knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and dosage calculation.
Track record of sound judgment and decision-making.
Demonstrates collaborative coach–based approach with peers, team player.
Viewed as a positive ambassador in the dispensary, respected by patients and peers
Criminal Record Check required.
Schedule:
40 hours per week.
The usual shifts will be Monday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
8-hour shift
Day shift
Monday to Friday
Every weekend.
Weekend as needed.
