Duties and responsibilities:
Install, repair, and maintain domestic, commercial and industrial plumbing systems and accessories.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, plans, and specifications to determine the design/layout of the plumbing system, water supply network, and waste and drainage systems.
Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and wall and floor fittings using measuring tools, such as levels and plumb bobs.
Cut and bore holes in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings using hand and power tools.
Measure, cut, bend, thread and connect pipes using hand and power tools or machines, such as pipe cutters, benders, and threading machines.
Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment, according to the specifications and requirements of the plumbing system.
Check pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges and other specialized testing equipment.
Troubleshoot plumbing system problems and identify appropriate solutions.
Support the growth and development of company culture
Work alone or in a groups
Teach apprentices
mechanical rooms/boiler work would a bonus
Performs other duties as required
Requirements:
Minimum two years of working as a plumber
Proof of Red Seal/ Journeyman
Knowledge of Ferederal/ Provincial Building codes
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 10-12 hours a day working in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures
Must be able to lift 50lbs and use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kg
