Based in our Grande Prairie location. The successful candidate must reside in the immediate area.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Gun Loader’s principal responsibilities are to load the perforating guns, keep up to date on the explosive inventory control list, order explosives and ensure that the perforation equipment is maintained to the highest standards and according to the latest specifications. The Gun Loader must be aware at all times of the potential risks associated with such maintenance and work in a safe, orderly and efficient manner.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Understand and adhere to all Tier 1 Energy Solutions (Tier 1) policies and procedures, furthermore understand and adhere to any client’s policies and procedures;
Managing inventory of perforating explosives and radioactive materials safely and accurately at all times with little or no supervision;
Building and servicing perforating bottom hole assemblies for use in wireline and tubing conveyed operations;
Purchasing and completing purchase orders while working closely with Management and Procurement;
Following policies and guidelines for working with explosives designed by Tier 1 and any governing agencies;
Safely transporting all explosives;
Performing on site duties which would require building and servicing assemblies on location;
Other duties as assigned by the reporting Manager.
Knowledge and Skills:
Perforating field experience; or a willingness to train and qualify for attending the required courses as set out by Tier 1;
Must be able to successfully complete an Oilwell Perforators Safety Training course;
Ability to operate independently;
Ability to champion a company safety culture.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Frequent climbing (stairs, ladders, terrain);
Frequent lifting (70 pounds);
Frequent bending, twisting and standing;
Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions;
Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week;
Exposure to high noise;
Exposure to explosives.
Educations, Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
High School Diploma, General Education Diploma, or Equivalent Experience;
Class 5 Drivers License;
First Aid (an asset);
PAL License (an asset).
Qualifications;
Results from a pre-employment test must be deemed acceptable in accordance to Tier 1’s policies;
5 years commercial/drivers abstract must be in compliant with Tier 1’s guidelines;
Results from a Back ground check must be deemed acceptable in accordance to Tier 1’s policies;
Active blasters permit (preferred)
Wireline experience (preferred)
Screening Approval letter from Service Canada must be compliant.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
