Position Summary
The Production Supervisor coordinates and directs activities of the various production shift operations and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Direct supervision of production crews through all stages of operation.
Interface with employees and inspect equipment and processes to identify requirements and opportunities for improvement.
Analyze work orders to estimate and create schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
Monitor materials and inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock is on hand to meet production requirements.
Interpret customer specifications and job orders to workers and assign duties accordingly.
Communicate with sales and logistics departments to ensure production deadlines are met.
Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
Schedule internal and external quality control inspections for compliance to standard specifications.
Collect/distribute interdepartmental information and correspondence maintaining time, inventory, and production records.
Prepare and report operational information across various groups and departments.
Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, environmental requirements, equipment performance, quality assurance and safety initiatives.
Participate and contribute to company safety program.
Coordinate and perform monthly cycle and annual inventory counts.
Monitor and maintain levels of operational supplies, PPE and other consumables.
Provide coverage and relief duties as well as other functions as assigned.
Responsible for managing the time and attendance of employees and backing Plant Manager for payroll.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications & Core Competencies
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role
Valid driver’s license
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated problem solving, prioritization and conflict resolution skills
Attention to detail
Knowledge of utility pole and customer standards
Time and stress management
Ability to work independently and be flexible regarding work assignments
Intermediate Computer skills (Microsoft Office and BlueBee system)
Knowledge of health and safety standards
