We're looking for a detail-oriented Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support our operations in Eastern Canada (Quebec and the Maritimes).
Your Role
As an EHS Coordinator, you’ll support environmental programs and safety systems to ensure regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement at our facilities. You’ll work closely with operations teams, environmental specialists, and local management.
Key Responsibilities
Environment:
Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and municipal environmental regulations
Monitor and improve site-specific environmental programs (e.g., wastewater, air, soil, stormwater)
Manage waste classification, environmental permits, and reporting
Conduct audits, implement corrective actions, and prepare for inspections
Develop and deliver environmental training to employees
Support capital projects with environmental expertise
Health & Safety:
Coordinate onboarding and safety training for new hires
Co-chair safety committees and maintain related records
Manage hazard assessments (JHAs), SOPs, and lockout/tagout procedures
Investigate incidents, compile statistics, and oversee site inspections
Support WSIB/CNESST claims and ensure up-to-date SDS and certifications
Lead initiatives in harassment training, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement
Your Profile
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical field
Valid driver’s license and clean abstract
Proficiency in both French and English (spoken and written)
Solid knowledge of Canadian EHS regulations (especially Quebec MEPP guidelines)
Experience in water/soil/air sampling and environmental monitoring
Skilled in Microsoft Office; SAP and database experience is a plus
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
Familiar with ISO 9000 or other quality systems
