Registered Nurse
to join our Health Services team on a part-time basis.
The Opportunity:
This is a rewarding opportunity for a highly motivated and caring RN to provide developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive health care to students aged 3–19, including local and international students. Working two days per week during the school year, the successful candidate will play a key role in promoting the health and wellness of our diverse student and staff population.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide assessments and care within the RN Scope of Practice
Respond to medical emergencies, coordinating with EMS when necessary
Deliver follow-up care and maintain
accurate documentation using our Electronic Medical Record system
Support students with chronic conditions, injuries, and illness in a culturally sensitive and age-appropriate manner
Collaborate with faculty, counselling, boarding, and support staff to ensure continuity of care
Communicate clearly with students, staff, and families, using translation tools as needed
Facilitate referrals to external medical professionals and coordinate immunizations and health screenings
Educate staff and students on relevant medical needs, conditions, and care plans
Support school-wide wellness initiatives and other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
Current practicing registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
Current CPR certification
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Culturally sensitive, non-judgmental, and empathetic approach to care
Experience or interest in pediatrics, primary care, mental health, emergency care, or intercultural care is an asset
Proficiency with electronic records and Microsoft Office applications
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Commitment to ongoing professional development
Working Conditions:
16 hours per week: Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7:30am to 3:30pm
School-year position: off during all school breaks and statutory holidays
Work takes place in the on-campus Health Centre, with occasional campus-wide response
Some opportunity for additional hours may arise occasionally
