The Project:
Mace is working as part of a Joint Venture (MCS) to provide expertise in managing and delivering key infrastructure projects by bringing specialist skills to support our client Metrolinx’s program of infrastructure improvements. These improvements consist of a complex program of works, which includes new stations, electrification of existing lines, installing new rail lines, upgrading existing stations, signalling, and more.

The Health, Safety and Wellbeing manager is required to work in Toronto, Canada supporting the delivery of north America’s largest infrastructure program to develop and deliver the health and safety strategy as part of the overall program Health and Safety initiative.
You’ll Be Responsible For:
Collaborating with the client teams to implement and maintain programs, systems, and procedures to achieve HSW objectives.
Providing visible Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) leadership and direction.
Providing advice, guidance and assurance to the senior leadership team.
Supporting the delivery of the business strategy and objectives.
Applying tools and techniques, defining local strategies and methods to initiate and/or implement change to improve health and safety performance.
Developing and delivering safety initiatives, from conception to implementation, in areas such as supply chain best practices, supply chain engagement, risk management, and effective health and safety data management.
Developing implementation plans and training materials.
Advising the MCS JV’s Lead Health, Safety & Wellbeing on strategic HSW matters.
Support and drive a dynamic lesson learned and business improvement process for HSW across the program.
Engaging with the client teams, providing health and safety leadership and credibility building lasting relationships.
Support strategic health, safety, and welfare risk management for construction in an operational environment
You’ll also have:
A Health & Safety related degree or equivalent.
Extensive knowledge and experience in safety systems on Railway programs
Experience in developing and embedding health, safety & wellbeing management systems.
Experience in large-scale program delivery.
