Unposting Date: 2025-08-20 11:59 PM Your role As a Reporter-Editor in Toronto, your primary objective is to perform reporting and editorial assignments related to investigating, researching, gathering, and writing news and current affairs stories in a variety of formats. You’ll form an integral part of Ontario’s continuous news offering. You’ll contribute to newscasts and current affairs programs for CBC/Radio-Canada in Ontario, and to regional and national news and current affairs programs, especially for ICI RDI. This will require that you develop and maintain contact with a variety of sources, and work in close cooperation with your program unit. Your role will consist of preparing and presenting news and current affairs stories and programs for CBC/Radio-Canada. In this role, you will conduct research and interviews, write copy, process audio and video, and produce thorough, fact-checked, dynamic, compelling news content for delivery across various platforms (web, mobile, social media, radio, TV). As required, you will perform other production or administrative tasks associated with the smooth functioning of the newsroom, program unit or station. Work must also conform to CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices. Schedule: Working hours may vary to accommodate production requirements. We are looking for a candidate with the following: Undergraduate university degree along with reporting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Three (3) or more years’ experience in news, including presenting news live on television Strong news sense along with solid interviewing, writing and reporting skills Proven ability to work well in an ever-changing environment where there are multiple deadlines Proven ability to produce quick, accurate summaries of news events and issues Skilled in providing a wide variety of story treatments, including short documentaries and live debriefs Ability to adapt to a variety of subjects and to vulgarize these subjects for a large audience and with a pan-canadian vision Contribute to enriching our digital content by searching for, gathering, and integrating, as needed, elements collected in the field Good knowledge of major issues, and newsmakers in Ontario and the Franco-Ontarian community Ability to communicate and work in both English and French Proven ability to work as part of a team, combined with the ability to work independently Proven ability to handle stress caused by stressful situations and environments Strong organizational skills Valid driver’s license Valid passport is an asset Willingness to travel within North America to cover news stories Willingness to work flexible hours Please include in your application an online link to your demo.
